Harris looks up in denial at the wave of destruction heading to the U.S. The view screens show the rioting in Los Angeles. Several soldiers try to disperse the crowd. The computer switches to a local L.A. news broadcast. |

ENCRYPTED COMMANDS FLASH on the screen from each of the U.S. nuclear subs. On the map screens, lines arc out of the Pacific and North Atlantic Oceans, heading to targets in Europe and Asia. Harris grunts then frees his other hand from behind the chair. He lunges toward a computer terminal to do something about this madness. A cyborg shoots General Harris in the leg. He stumbles then slams the palm of his hand on a button embedded in the terminal. The button sends an alert message to the civil defense offices across the United States. |
EXT. SHELTER -- DIGITAL INTEGRATED INDUSTRIES -- LATE AFTERNOON |
The Terminator lifts a heavy cement lid out of the bomb shelter floor. Underneath is another lid, 6ft long by 3 feet wide. A television on a lab table screams with the EBS tone, the screen flashes to a red background and the blue and white civil defense logo. Sarah, John and Steve collect electronic devices in the bomb shelter. Steve opens a container embedded in the pit consisting of three lids, one inside the other. Steve puts in a couple of laptop computers. |
