EXT./INT. DESERT -- NEW MEXICO -- EVENING |
A Hummer travels down a
desert road. It kicks up sand and dust. Light wind blows. The sun sets
behind a mountain range in the distant, amber colored sky. It
approaches an abandoned aircraft hangar surrounded by a rusty old
fence. Soldiers walk around the perimeter. One of soldiers uses a remote control to open the gates and then the hangar doors. The HUMMER drives in. Inside the hangar, the HUMMER enters a lighted tunnel descending underground. |
INT. NUCLEAR COMMAND CENTER -- CAVERN -- EVENING |
We're in a long
underground cavern about 50 ft high by 300 ft wide. Lights bolted to
the cavern ceiling illuminate the floor. The HUMMER passes several
parked tanks and the new assault vehicles, H-K's. Parked on the
opposite side are several new flying assault aircraft; flying H-K
rotocopters. SEVERAL T-70 ENDO-SKELETON CYBORGS work and move heavy objects. They're controlled by soldiers standing at control panels. The Hummer stops in at the entrance to the interior of the command center. An MP walks down a set of steps. He salutes as he holds the door open, while Colonel Reese steps out of the vehicle, returning salutes. An air force general walks down the steps. He is GENERAL DEVIN HARRIS. 40ish, African-American, upstanding. Reese salutes him. General Harris returns the salute. |
INT. NUCLEAR COMMAND CENTER -- EVENING |
Harris and Reese walk
onto a platform, into the well lit main control room. The platform
overlooks three rows of work stations with computer terminals. They
stand before a large computer in the center of the room. Between the terminals and the computer is a holographic 3-D image of the Earth, projected by 3-D cameras on a small black, bowl shaped platform. T-INFINITY is printed on the front of the computer. Military personnel busily work as Reese looks around in awe. |
