The Terminator hesitates. |
The Terminator slowly puts the Beretta on the ground. Two army supply trucks pull out on to the road from behind rock outcroppings. The doors are marked with -- NEW MEXICO FREEDOM FIGHTERS AND CITIZEN MILITIA. Sarah, Steve, John and the Terminator are forced at gunpoint into the backs of the trucks. TWO SURVIVORS attach a chain to the pickup truck. The survivors get in the trucks. They drive off into the darkness. |
EXT. DESERT TOWN -- DARK |
The trucks carrying Sarah, Steve, John, and the Terminator enter a small desert town -- GILA JUNCTION. It's an old mining town at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in New Mexico. Armed survivors guard the perimeter. A couple of guards stand on top of the water tower, a look-out point. The wheels of the trucks bounce over railroad tracks leading to a railroad yard, filled with coal hoppers. Some of the hoppers are heaped with coal, others empty. The trucks turn a corner and approach a square in the center of town. Armed people, some wearing camo fatigues, mill about, carrying out various tasks. The trucks stop in front of the jail house. The survivors pull Sarah, Steve, John and the Terminator out of the trucks. Two men approach. One of them; Colonel Reese. Sarah observes his features; reminds her of Kyle. The survivors keep their guns leveled at their prisoners. |

Reese eyes Steve, vaguely recognizing him. |
