Steve flicks on a desk lamp. Sarah awakens, whips out her Browning, aims at the lamp, terrified, disoriented, catching her breath. Steve gently puts his hand on her arm.

STEVE
Whoa! You all right?

SARAH
(nods, breathes easier)
What have we got?

Steve picks up the device off of the design table; shows it to her. It's metallic, half-collar shape, about 2" in diameter. It also has an input jack for a computer.

STEVE
This. It shuts off the T-70's in case of a malfunction.

John walks over to look at the collar. Steve points to a flat, 1 inch wide access plug inside the collar.

STEVE
Input terminal.
(pats the back of his neck)
Plugs right in the back.

SARAH
Good idea. They've been chasing us using the city's power grid. We might have an advantage. All we need is a place to trap one and find out what's going on.

JOHN
I know the perfect place.

John reaches into his book bag. He takes out a small fare brochure for the METRO RAIL -- L.A.'s Subway system.

INT. NUCLEAR COMMAND CENTER -- MORNING

Several technicians work around T-INFINITY, checking circuit boards, and programming sequences. General Harris and Colonel Reese walk into the control room. The technicians analyze equipment with oscilloscopes showing waveforms, digital data analyzers, and the like.

Harris and Reese climb up the steps to the platform. A Technician busily works on a display panel.

HARRIS
Have you found anything?
