Reese opens his briefcase; takes out a Digital Video Disc. He places it in a DVD player in a big screen television. The screen goes black, then... "PROJECT WORMWOOD -- Classified Information -- Smart Weapons Testing -- White Sands Target Range -- New Mexico".

A HUNTER-KILLER prototype, an olive drab vehicle, rolls across desert, it's treads CLANK and KICK up dust. Target cars and trucks are crushed by the treads. It fires laser weapons from turrets on overhanging arms about 20 feet above the ground. The turrets aim and destroy targets.

REESE
The M-100 H-K. That stands for Hunter-Killer. Autonomous, unmanned, equipped with laser weapons and infra-red scanning.

An endo-skeleton robot walks and destroys fake soldiers with a laser plasma rifle. It's a model subtitled T-70, bulkier than the future endo-skeleton cyborgs. It faces us, an omen.

FRANK
Cyberdyne Systems Model 101; version T-70. Cyberdyne wouldn't be here if I hadn't invented it.

REESE
Bullet proof, resistant to electromagnetic pulse. The soldier of the future.
(to Frank)
Of course, poor security delayed completion.

FRANK
(defensive)
The terrorists only set us back three years.

Steve glances at Frank's unsettled eyes, concerned at the breach in security of such an advanced place.

FRANK
(to Steve)
I'll explain later.

REESE
Thanks to you, Steve, our nation's armed forces will be one with machines.

EXT. STREET -- EL SEGUNDO -- DAY

FBI AGENTS IN BLACK UNIFORMS
