Attention Mr. James Cameron

2/12/93
Dear Mr. Cameron

I want to start this letter, by telling you that I have enjoyed the films that you have created. There were a couple of them that I enjoyed so much that I have written a treatment for a sequel. According to advice that I recieved from the orginization called Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, the treatment is considered a derivative work under the copyright law. What I am asking is, could I please have your permission to copyright the treatment as a derivative work. I have been working on this treatment since April of 92, and its length is over 160 pages long. The reason the treatment is so long is because I wrote it to be as descriptive of the story as possible. Eventually, with your consent, I would like to work with you to turn the treatment into a screenplay.

The treatment continues the story to "The Terminator" and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day". The title of the treatment is "Terminator 3: Armageddon" Right now you might be wondering how I was able to write a sequel when it was thought the story ended with Terminator 2. I have enclosed an explanation, explaining how I was able to make the treatment, by closely looking at the events that took place in The Terminator and Terminator 2 and their effects on the storys time line. To help me write the treatment, I have watched The Terminator and Terminator 2 about twenty to thirty times apiece on videocassete, and I have paid very close attention to the storylines from the films. If you give me permission to copyright the treatment, and I recieve a notice of copyright after copyrighting the treatment, I will send a copy to you. I believe the treatment has the potential to become a screenplay and eventually a motion picture. After you read the treatment I hope you will feel the same.

About three weeks ago, I attempted to get in contact with you through a liteary agent. I haven't heard anything yet, so this is why I am sending this letter.

If we do work together, I'll let you know a little about myself. I am currently a student at Jackson Community College, outside of Jackson, Michigan. Luckily, I made it to JCC on a departmental scholarship. I couldn't have made it any other way because I didn't have the funds to pay the tuition. I am in my second year, and I will be nearing completion of my courses at the end of the fall semester for 93, to recieve an Associates Degree in electronics. Maybe electronics played a part, in inspiring me to write the treatment. Besides working to complete my degree, the only other thing that I have of any value, is the treatment. I enjoy electronics, but writing seems more fulfilling to me. I'll be anxiously waiting for your response. You will need to know where to reach me. My address and phone number follow:
