SARAH
Evolving software?

STEVE
Exactly. See the graphics having trouble? They represent inferior programs.

Two of the computer graphic spider forms have trouble walking while the rest walk across the screen. The two spider forms disappear, the rest keep going and divide into new ones.

TERMINATOR
The weak ones are deleted. The strong programs create a new generation and evolve.

SARAH
Survival of the fittest, I get that -- but why were you sent here?

TERMINATOR
To make sure the T-2000 carried out its mission. If it can't, I can shut it off.

The Terminator takes off the black jacket. He holds out his right arm; underside facing up. A plasma/liquid-metal cyndrical rod, 1/4 inch in diameter, extends out of his arm to the length of one foot. Several small data connectors fold out to the side. The metallic cylinder is drawn back inside the Terminator's arm. The faint HUMMING of the computers, the equipment and the fluorescent lights dominates the room for a moment.

JOHN
It DIDN'T kill us, so now what?

TERMINATOR
T-2000 will meet with T-INFINITY, the computer running Sky-Net, and upload data regarding future weapons. Once completed the computer will save itself.

SARAH
Was Sky-Net destroyed?

TERMINATOR
The humans destroyed the defense grid. T-INFINITY downloaded itself to an alternate facility where T-2000 and I were created.

Sarah takes a quick glance at Steve while he observes the conversation, trying to piece this nightmare puzzle together.

SARAH
I'd like to know who made your CPU.

TERMINATOR
Miles Bennett Dyson.
